Nokia Asha 202 & 203

The Nokia Asha 202 and 203 are identical twins sharing almost the same specs. Let’s discuss their hardware and software capabilities.

Hardware

Nokia Asha 202 and 203 comes with an alphanumeric keypad and a resistive 2.4″ (240 x 320) touch screen which is customisable and support swipe shortcuts (Series 40 Touch and Type user interface). The phone must have an external card (upto 32GB) as it has got very less internal memory of 10 MB to have the full user experience. Data communication network supports Edge, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm AV connector, Micro-USB charging and connector, radio and other standard options.

The Asha 202 is a dual-sim mobile phone which has one slot under the battery and another on the left side. Therefore, SIMs can be switched or changed without switching the phone off. This phone has a Nokia SIM Manager that supports settings for up to 5 different SIMs. However, Asha 203 doesn’t have a dual sim option that makes a big difference between these two devices.

Because of alphanumeric keypad, you can’t type as fast as you can on Qwerty unless you’re expert in it and the resistive touch will not respond same as capacitive but it might not harm the market value being a low budget device. Estimated Price will be available in around six weeks for 60 Euros.

Asha 203 comes with Dark Red, Dark Gray and Silver White where as Asha 202 comes with Black, Dark Red, Dark Gray Silver White and Golden White.

Software

Nokia Asha 202 & 203 run on Nokia S40 OS with different screen dimensions as compared to Asha 201 as it has more square screen. Reason of changing the dimensions of these phones’ screens is ease of accessing stuff from shortcuts or by swiping left or right to get the favorite apps, games etc. You can also connect to your favorite social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and post your updates directly from the homescreen.

Asha 202 & 203 have got a 2 MP camera which is considered to be much better than other devices of the same budget.
