Looking for some new apps, but don’t want to pay for them? Amazon’s Android app, dubbed Underground, offers the same functionality as the regular Amazon mobile shopping app with one perk: free apps, games, and in-app items.
Amazon has partnered with thousands of developers to make “over ten thousand dollars in games, apps and in-app items” actually free. These apps are usually paid apps, but Amazon found another way to compensate the app developers.
Amazon Underground offers 100 percent free versions of popular premium titles like OfficeSuite Professional 8 (actual price $14.99), Goat Simulator (actual price $4.99), and PhotoSuite 4 (actual price $4.99) as well as titles with in-app purchases like Frozen Free Fall, Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, Angry Birds Slingshot Stella, Looney Tunes Dash!, and more.
Google doesn’t allow competing app stores in the Play Store, so, just like with the former Amazon Appstore, Amazon customers will have to download the Amazon Underground app directly from Amazon’s website.
Amazon Underground is available for your Android phone and Fire Tablet. Very soon you will download ThemeReflex Apps from Amazon Android App Store.
How to download Amazon Underground App
To install the Amazon Underground app on your Android phone:
Go to https://www.amazon.com/underground.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Change security settings to install
Although you can download the app from Amazon, you can’t install it on your Android device without making changes to the normal security settings. Go to Settings > Security and then check the “Unknown Sources” box to allow the installation of apps from both trusted and unknown sources.
Then open Downloads and tap on “Amazon_App.apk” to install it.
